Our nurse team is dedicated to the care of your pet should they need to be monitored during our opening hours.

At Wharfedale Veterinary Centre we are fully aware of your pet’s needs should they require intensive care. We have a dedicated Out of Hours service at Abbey House vets in Leeds and Minster vets in York. They offer 24/7 emergency cover for all our registered clients. In the unfortunate circumstance that your pet needs emergency care outside our opening hours, rest assured they are on hand to provide any help required. All of the in-patients requiring intensive care are supervised round the clock by vets and nurses so your pet will not be left alone.

In the case your pet is admitted at Wharfedale Veterinary Centre during our opening hours and requires further intensive care overnight or over the weekend, we may offer you the Minster vets ambulance services so your pet can have continued monitoring in their fully equipped and staffed emergency unit. This will be discussed and arranged with you by our veterinary surgeons.

In our surgery, a qualified veterinary surgeon and nurse are on the premises from 8am to 6pm weekdays and a qualified veterinary surgeon is on the premises from 8:30am to 12pm on Saturdays.

In-patients are checked according to their specific needs and as per instructions on the in-patient board and clinical notes.

Out of Hours

The transfer of inpatient is discussed on an individual basis with you. The Minster Vet hospital is on a short distance from us and has veterinary surgeons and nurses on the premises the whole time for a close monitoring of the patient.

For Out of Hours emergencies we use: Leeds Emergency Vets and The Minster Vets
