Wharfedale Veterinary Centre has been designed to provide a relaxed atmosphere for you and your animals. Our consulting rooms are large with all consultations being conducted seated and time given to your animal so that it feels at ease before we handle them. In our surgical ward and kennel areas we have taken care to design the facilities so that animals cannot see procedures being carried out on others and we make sure that cats and dogs are in separate wards to reduce stress.
IDEXX veterinary laboratories are on our doorstep so nearly all our diagnostic testing is carried out to the highest standard by one of the world’s leading veterinary laboratories to avoid possible in-house testing quality issues.
Our nurse team is dedicated to the care of your pet should they need to be monitored during our opening hours. In order that our medical staff is fully rested before daytime surgery commences we have made special arrangements with two Royal College approved Veterinary Hospitals for provision of overnight and out of hours emergency care. Please find more details in our Patient care (inpatient/overnight) section.
For the most difficult time at the end of your pet’s life, we have a dedicated room called Reflections so that you do not need to be hurried out of the surgery or you or other relatives can visit if they wish later in the day. Our head receptionist, Janet is our Pet Loss and Bereavement Support Advisor and she will be here to assist you through that difficult time alongside our clinical team.
We keep a book of remembrance that can be visited at any time and we are always happy to welcome our owners back to Wharfedale Veterinary Centre with or without an animal, because we know how much the practice can be a large part of peoples lives particularly when an animal has needed a lot of care at the end of their lives. Owners old and new are very much a part of our Practice.
